Numerical Methods for the description of building physics concepts with regard to structural and room acoustical aspects in multi-storey timber constructions

Dissertation

Modern timber construction provides new potential through technological advances interms of innovative manufacturing methodsand the combination with computer-based modeling which allows timber construction to be applied to various building typologies. From the perspective of building physics, the acoustic requirements of multi-storey buildings are particularly important. For the integration of structural and room acoustics into the computational planning process, this dissertation focuses on the analysis of numerical calculation methods for their applicability, the determination of the acoustic behavior of building components and the development of innovative concepts for acoustic decoupling.
