Research

IABP takes up current trends and transfers them into scientific and social practice through specific research projects and initiatives.

Many of the long-term and at the same time noticeable mega trends, such as urbanization and individualization, climate change and the world of work, mobility and health, touch the thematic fields of building physics. IABP takes up these trends and transfers them into scientific and social practice through specific research projects and initiatives. The respective topics range from new building materials and components to design concepts for rooms and buildings and their integration into neighbourhoods, cities and their infrastructures.

An interdisciplinary character of the research is proving more and more to be a guarantee for innovative and at the same time industry-specific results. This also applies to focal points such as "People in Rooms" and "Climate- and Culture-Friendly Building", which include socio-cultural design aspects in addition to structural engineering.
