Principles for designing the built environment in urban spaces.

In view of climate change, globalization and urbanization as well as the advancing scarcity of resources, the requirements on our built environment are constantly increasing. The development of sustainable concepts in the context of adaptation to the local (micro)climate as well as socio-cultural conditions are the focus of this research area.

The research of the principles of traditional building methods and building forms, of green structures in urban space including their interactions as well as climate and resource protection in the building industry reflect the main topics. Thus, a holistic approach is taken into account in the investigation of building-physical interactions in exterior and interior spaces.
